Our owner, Roy Chenault, got his start in hydraulics when he joined the U.S. Navy in 1961. After leaving the service he started working at MacMillan Hydraulic Engineering in Illinois. Years later he left Illinois and moved to the Dayton area where he started working at a hydraulic manufacturing plant called Pabco Fluid Power. After working on the manufacturing side of the business he set out on his own and started Craig’s Hydraulics out of Cleves, Ohio. In 1985 he moved his family to Kentucky and started Advance Machine & Hydraulics, and we’ve been operating out of the Bluegrass ever since.

Almost 50 years, and 3 generations later Advance Machine and Hydraulics is still going strong. Roy’s son Craig Chenault learned the trade from his dad and was a technician for 11 years. As of late Roy has been training his grandson Justin Tackett in the tricks of the trade so that Advance Machine & Hydraulics can continue into the next generation, and God willing, another 50 years.
